About the job
Hillingdon is the second largest borough in London with over 200 green spaces covering approximately 1,800 acres. We’re continually improving and this has been recognised by the number of ‘Green Flag’ Awards we’ve received for our parks and open spaces. We currently have a collection of 24 – which is the highest in the country.Your role as a Parks Officer will involve a wide range of practical activities i.e. working with colleagues within the Green Spaces, Internal & external contractors and volunteers. You will also be required to undertake Inspection on children’s playgrounds in line with the RoSPA guidelines.
About the person
Ideally, you will have a NVQ level 2 or equivalent in Horticulture or conservation. You will also have appropriate IT Skills to use technology out in the field. However, equally as important will be your ability to communicate with members of the public, both on a casual and formal basis, using tact and understanding in order to contribute to the provision of a quality service.
