We are currently recruiting for casual chefs to work over our busy festive period on christmas parties and buffets

Duties include:
• Ensure that a high standard of preparations and presentation is achieved before any dish leaves the kitchen.
•Make sure and checks that all mis-en-place is up to date and liaise with other sections with their mis-en-place and wastage.
•Check kitchen beverage stock and control on a daily basis.
•Oversees staff on the section, training on the job, and ensure that the section runs smoothly and efficiently.
•Delegate staff in their duties and keep up standards in health, safety and hygiene.
•Is generally alert for opportunities to improve the profitability of the section.
•Reports and defective machinery or equipment immediately to the Head Chef 
•Be constantly aware of new ideas and create new dishes in the F & B outlets.
•Ensure that all food items are date stamped.
•Maintain a high standard of discipline to reduce waste and accidents. Report all faults, errors, complaints and compliments to the Senior Chef on duty.
•To adhere to all the company's procedure on health, safety and hygiene.
•To attend any internal or external courses that management may deem beneficial.
•To be alive to new ideas and systems which could benefit the department of hotel

As a result of these successes on the pitch we are now seeking the right individuals to continue these high standards and growth off the pitch.

At Manchester United we know how to put on the best show in world football. Back in 1966 we became the first Club anywhere to introduce executive boxes and since then our hospitality standards and experience have grown with our list of honours.

The Club currently has 26 suites and 180 boxes which can cater for a variety of needs. This includes the newly developed East Stand boxes with private balconies and optional dining facilities, the extraordinary Centennial Club suites which ooze luxury and style, to fine dining in the beautifully set Gallery suite.

The catering department is currently recruiting individuals to join our match day team for the start of the season to help enhance the match day experience for the 76,000 visitors we have each game. There are approximately 35 matches during the season which starts in August.

Job Title:        Hospitality Waiting On StaffReports To:    Hospitality Supervisor

Plate waiting staff will work in the hospitality suites within the stadium to serve guests that are attending a match day or event. You will be working as part of team that is directed by the Room Manager or Supervisor, aiming to go above and beyond customer expectations to ensure that all customers have an enjoyable experience at Manchester United.

The waiting on position requires a well presented candidate with a friendly and approachable attitude and a welcoming and cheery personality. You must have the capability of working on your own as well as part of a team. A good command of spoken and written English is essential to be able to communicate and interact with customers effectively. You must have excellent organisation skills, social perceptiveness and good co-ordination, with an eye for detail. We require candidates that can make others smile, who are passionate about customer service and always seek to wow the customers by going the extra mile to ensure satisfaction, to produce a high quality performance in a demanding environment.

If you like interacting with a variety of people on a daily basis, then a waiting on position might be the right job for you.

As far as possible each team members is allocated to work in the same area for each game. However, depending on business needs you may be required to work in a different area.

Experience of working in a restaurant or a conference and banqueting environment is desirable but not essential for this role.

Job Title:      Hospitality Bar Staff
Reports To:  Hospitality Supervisor

Bar service staff will be required to work in the hospitality suites and dispense bars within the stadium. You will be working as part of team that is directed by the Room Manager or Supervisor, aiming to go above and beyond customer expectations to ensure that all customers have an enjoyable experience at Manchester United.

A bar position requires a well presented candidate who is trustworthy and respectful and have a pleasant manner with a welcoming and cheery personality. You must have the capability of working on your own as well as part of a team. A good command of spoken and written English is essential to be able to communicate and interact with customers effectively. We require candidates who are passionate about customer service, to serve and present beverages quickly and efficiently meeting our standards, ensuring satisfaction to produce high quality performance in a demanding environment.

As far as possible each team member is allocated to work in the same area/hospitality bar for each game. However, depending on business needs you may be required to work in a different area.

  • You must be over 18 years of age.

  • Cleaning down the bar area.
  • Restocking all the fridges at the end of the shift.

  • Attend mandatory and other training as required.

Experience of working behind a bar is desirable but not essential for this role.

Job Title:      Kiosk AssistantReports To:  Kiosk Team Leader

Public Catering Assistants work on busy concourse areas within separate concessions around the stadium, serving 76,000 guests a variety of food and beverage products in an extremely fast paced environment. You will work as part of a team that is directed by a Team Leader through to the Stand Manager of the working area. Your aim will be to go above and beyond customer expectations ensuring that all spectators have a world class experience at Manchester United time and time again.

A kiosk assistant role requires a well presented candidate with a friendly, approachable attitude who can show confidence when welcoming customers to Old Trafford. You must be able to work on your own as well as part of a team in a size restricted area. The ability to take instruction is a vital skill within the public catering operation to ensure service runs successfully. A good command of spoken and written English is essential to be able to communicate and interact with customers effectively. We require candidates who are passionate about customer service, strive to go the extra mile but can also improvise if involved in a difficult situation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Show a professional and amicable attitude when welcoming customers onto the concourse areas.
  • Polite, courteous and presentable at all times.
  • Learn the menu offered to be able to provide full product knowledge to spectators.
  • Take orders over the count and input on our EPOS system.
  • Active listening skills to ensure all orders are taken correctly.
  • Adhere to and follow all cash handling procedures when processing payments with cash or card. 
  • Maintain a proper fast paced experience service 2 hours before and throughout the football match.
  • Ability to follow stock rotation and replenishment procedures.
  • Understanding of the correct merchandising for the kiosk.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and tidy working area throughout every shift.
  • Deal with colleague and customer requests and queries.
  • Comply and complete any company paperwork as and when requested.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.



Additional Information:
  • A requirement of being a Kiosk Assistant will be the need to come into contact with alcohol and where necessary serve, and move alcoholic products around the stadium.
Experience of food and cash handling is desirable but not essential for this role.

Job Title:        Back of House Support StaffReports To:    Back of House Supervisor or Manager

Back of House Assistants work in the kitchen areas supporting the staff that work within the hospitality areas within the stadium keeping kitchen areas and equipment clean and tidy. This role also involves the movement of stores and equipment around the stadium. It is a physical role and Back of House Assistants may be required to work in small teams or under their own supervision.

Each team member must have strong effective communication skills with the stamina to be able to cope under pressure. Perseverance, determination and self–assurance are requirements for our Back of House role. Within every working team you should be able to actively offer support and guidance to one another, whilst being prepared to work in different areas of the Stadium as required to meet Business demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively carry out the cleaning of all machinery and cleaning equipment to specification.
  • Carry out Company cleaning procedures and cleaning schedules.
  • Have the ability to adapt to different working environments.
  • Show an exceptional level of service, ensuring all work areas are fully equipped for each Match Day.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise work load during busy periods.
  • Assist in the transfer of equipment and personnel within the Stadium as and when required.
  • To maintain cleanliness in all kitchens, cleaning rooms, refuse rooms, goods received areas, access areas, lifts and any other requested by management.
  • Removing refuse to allocated areas and abide by all Reds Go Green and Sustainability policies.
  • Maintain a high level of personal hygiene, ensuring correct clean uniform and personal protective equipment are worn at all times.
  • Ensure all legislation and codes of practise in relation to Health and Safety are adhered to, including the management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1992, Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (this also includes Manual Handling) and COSHH 1994.
