Library Services are central to the University of the Arts learning, teaching and research activities. Located at Central Saint Martins, in this Library Assistant role you will deliver a high standard of front-line service and administration, bringing you directly in contact with the college’s world-class learning and teaching resources in art and design.

The role

With a strong customer-focus and high standard of service delivery you will assist library users with directional queries and provide initial assistance with the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). You will also provide guidance on using electronic resources, library materials and general purpose software. The role also involves handling library loan issues, discharge and renewals and participating in a rota for providing front-line support, in addition to assisting with day-today operations, shelving and filing and production of promotional and instructional material.

The role may involve working evenings and weekends when required.

Your profile

With relevant experience in a library, open access IT or customer service environment, you will have received formal training or education at a post 16 level. You will have basic numeracy skills and experience of cash handling and financial procedures. You will have the relevant IT skills and an interest in the subject areas of the University of the Arts London. Above all, you will be a strong team member with the desire to deliver a high standard service to a wide range of creative individuals from students to teachers.
