Job: Hygiene Operative

DIRECT KPI’S:

Health & Safety                      
  • To follow safety procedures as written by Allied Bakeries including risk assessments, safe systems of work, lock off, COSHH, correct wearing of PPE and other specific safety instructions relevant to the tasks being carried out.

Cost Control
  • To participate in any cost control initiatives- i.e. control and efficient use of hygiene materials, e.g. chemicals and hygiene consumables, eliminating wastage, and ensuring use to specification.

Food Safety & Quality
  • To adhere to all Food Safety and Quality parameters as designated in company procedures, and work instructions.

Teamwork
  • To operate as an integral member of the team- assuring flexibility, responsibility, and duty of care to yourself and others.

   

   
Additional Accountabilities

  • To maintain high standards of cleaning, housekeeping and adhere to all relevant site & job cleaning schedules and work instructions
  • To record completion of relevant cleaning activities and ensure due diligence in accordance with Company Procedures. Also responsibility to report and record incomplete tasks and duties, to ensure effective corrective action may be managed for critical tasks.
  • To ensure effective segregation and correct disposal of out of spec product, waste, recyclable materials etc..
  • To identify and communicate any food safety, pest or environmental issues with Management and other team members
  • To report any non-conformances or out of spec results to immediate shift Hygiene supervisor/ Manager.To ensure individual compliance with all legislative, statutory and Company regulations regarding Health & Safety
  • To follow all job specific ISO (9001/14001/18001) and HACCP instruction, training, guidelines and briefings.
  • To ensure key, critical plant and equipment is clean and available for operation in a safe and hygienic manner
  • To contribute efficiently as part of a team to achieve the departmental KPI’s.
  • To share knowledge and/or best practice with other team members.

    Experience

    • Previous experience in hygiene/cleaning within a food manufacturing or similar environment is desirable

    Qualifications

    Basic Food Hygiene Certificate/ HACCP / COSHH certification  is desirable
    sure any ideas for improvement (in terms of quality of service or costs) is communicated to the relevant manager/ supervisor.
  • To work as a cross-functional team member as required.
