Our Vacancy
Hours/Days: Monday to Friday, 2.00pm - 10.00pm.  However, occasional Saturday work will be required to cover for holidays

Duties would include but are not limited to:

o Act as a patient escort throughout the hospital as required.
o Collect and return patients to designated collection places.
o Delivers patients¿ newspapers.
o Collection of samples and drugs from ward/theatre/pharmacy/departments and deliver to appropriate areas.
o Carrying out security checks, ensuring the premises are secure before finishing evening shift.
o Observance of Health & Safety/COSHH regulations and policy.
o Control of general, clinical and cytotoxic waste in line with corporate and hospital policy.
o Frank and bags external mail as required, separates mail for courier service as required.
o Report any maintenance requirements to the engineering services department. Checks medical gas supplies.
o To work in close liaison with the clinical staff, understanding the special needs of the hospital on a day to day basis.
o To be responsible for the day to day maintenance of the equipment provided, checking for faults and supply shortages and reporting them to the line manager.
o Compliance with all Health and Safety at Work regulations including COSHH.
o Work with guidance on moving and handling, as identified in corporate and local policy and discussed at Mandatory training sessions.

A full driving license is required as delivering between two sites and NHS hospitals is part of the service offered. A positive friendly attitude is essential along with flexibility of working pattern to suit the needs of the business.
