Position Description | This is a term time only role working 195 days per annum. PURPOSE:
Our mission is to partner with schools to deliver learner progression. Through a consultative, collaborative sales approach we support our customers with the right choice of products and services for their learners.
The Digital Support Consultant is responsible for promoting, selling and assisting the retention of digital and technology solutions designated by the business, focusing on school Senior Leadership Teams, Heads of Department and other key decision makers to ensure delivery of school performance targets and Pearson UK business plans.
Key Account Management• Responsible for growing the digital business in the existing customer base and new accounts, within a designated sales territory
• Visit targeted Senior Leadership Teams and Heads of Department within school establishments
• Support SLT and HoDs in their plans for raising attainment, personalised learning and delivering best value through the use of digital and technology solutions
• Present and demonstrate products professionally and with a solutions approach
• Responsible for supporting retention of our digital solutions in our existing customer base.
Achievement of agreed target figures• Takes ownership of Termly Plan and ensures delivery against the plan through regular reviews and amendments where appropriate
Growth of business in key product areas• Responsible for prospecting and closing new business on digital products as appropriate
• Promotes the uptake and embed the usage of relevant services
• Promotes and closes training in support of digital products
• Supports and follows up leads generated by field and internal sales colleagues
• Establishes and builds relationships with key influencers in territories designated
• Identifies opportunities and passes leads for qualifications and resources in the wider product portfolio to other team colleagues
Team work• Works closely with CSCs, CDM, CSAs and other relevant colleagues to develop and execute joint territory sales plans
• Collaborates with partner field and internal sales colleagues and other relevant colleagues working across the region and assists them in focused and targeted activity in given product areas
• Demonstrates understanding of team roles and commitment to team decisions
• Contributes fully as a team member, builds appropriate relationships and networks
• Keeps the Area Manager and Team fully informed about developments
Events• Works at key national exhibitions, local exhibitions. LA events, clusters, QCE and product launch events as appropriate.
Reporting• Submits fortnightly reports
• Regular weekly and monthly reporting of own activity and area feedback from schools including: Competitors and competitor activity with schools, Competitor products, Customer intelligence including a clear understanding of total spend analysis within centres and New Business by digital product
Health and Safety• Operates safely in the workplace without endangering self or others
Personal Development• Understands own development needs and discusses with Area Manager
• Takes time to understand changes in the market and communicates to Area Manager as appropriate

Candidate Profile | The successful candidate will be able to able to demonstrate the following key skills and experience:
Sales and Support• Has a good understanding of the sales process and record of having applied those principles in selling digital products and achieving consistent success
• Identifies where there are major opportunities at consortia level. Has the commercial acumen and selling skills to work with people at all levels of consortia and schools.

• Understands the demands of the territory and its dynamics, and is able to establish clear priorities and milestones to ensure targets and objectives are met
Strategy, Metrics and Financial Awareness• Understands the dynamics and imperatives of the market they are working in

• Has a good understanding of the sales information available on their territory

Market Knowledge• Understands the use of digital learning solutions within the schools. Is able to understand schools and consortia priorities and can share that knowledge with the team
• Can articulate the USPs and competitive positioning of Pearson digital products and associated product/service wrap around
Role Qualification:
• Level 2 Qualifications or equivalent required including Maths and English
• Previous experience of technology sales desired – should be able to produce evidence of previous sales successes
• Previous knowledge of the schools and education market preferred
• At least basic computer skills including familiarity with Word, Excel and Outlook
• Full UK Driving Licence
