Coastguard - Watch Offificer
£15,171 - £19,168 + 25%shift allowance

Her Majesty's Coastguard saves hundreds of lives each year - but did you know that you can become involved, by joining us as a Watch Officer?
As part of a land-based team, you'll find yourself applying all your nautical skills and knowledge. Using your strong IT and communication skills, you'll co-ordinate critical search and rescue operations in response to emergency calls. With full training when you join, you'll become part of a shift working team responding to maritime and coastal incidents and emergencies. At the same time, you'll benefifit from good career development prospects, an attractive Civil Service based pension and generous leave.
HM Coastguard is currently undergoing a major re-structure which will consolidate the existing Maritime Rescue Coordination Centres into a national network. This means these posts will be offered on a 2 year fifixed-term contract with the possibility of permanence or extension. There will be ample opportunities for Watch Officers to apply for positions within the new structure.
