Job Description

Rehab Recycle, Ballymount and Tallaght, specialise in electronic and electrical recycling services (WEEE) and has become the lead player in developing a Europe-wide agreement to collect WEEE between Workability International, which represents organisations providing employment for a combined total of over two million people with disabilities and a consortium of some of the world’s largest manufacturers of electrical and electronic goods. 
Rehab Recycle, Ballyfermot, is one of Ireland’s premier recycling plants – it provides systems for handling and recycling paper and cardboard packaging waste in line with Department of Environment Waste Management requirements.

Applications are invited for the following position:

General Operative / Forklift Driver 
Specific Purpose Contract – part-time relief 
Locations:  Rehab Recycle – Ballymount / Ballyfermot / Tallaght

The successful candidate will be on a Relief/Casual panel of General Operative staff to cover busy periods and staff absences across the three Rehab Recycle locations (Tallaght / Ballymount / Ballyfermot) that may occur from time to time. The position requires flexibility as working hours will be irregular (including weekends).

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the efficient management of waste streams at and through the Rehab Recycle facilities, ensuring a high level of Health & Safety practices are maintained at all times.

Applicants should have:

A forklift licence is required for this post. and a C Licence would be an advantage.

The ability to use your own initiative, be a good team player and work effectively as part of the Rehab Enterprises Team.

Job Title: Yard/General Operative (Relief/Casual) 
Location: Tallaght / Ballymount / Ballyfermot 
Reporting To: Supervisor

Purpose of the Position Reporting to the Supervisor (onsite), the purpose of the role will be to assist in the efficient management of waste streams generated through the Rehab Recycle facility in Ballymount/Tallaght, ensuring a high level of safe work practices along with health & safety practices are followed.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• To follow the company rules and regulations at all times
• Work effectively as part of the team
• Attend and contribute to staff meetings
• To ensure protective clothing is worn in order to comply with the Health & Safety practices of the plant
• Adhere to safe working practices and contribute to the creation and maintenance of a healthy, safe working environment
• Ensure quality, health & safety and environmental standards are adhered to
• Drive the company Forklift vehicles (if required) in a safe and courteous manner in accordance with safe practice
• If required, ensure Forklift vehicles are checked daily and checklist is completed.
• Efficient management of containers and vehicles for waste logistics operations
• Segregation of waste streams by family and as directed
• The safe management and storage of waste receptacles and equipment
• Safe operation of equipment necessary to carry out duties
• Depollution of WEEE in compliance with the Seventh Schedule and the requirements for the removal and selective treatment of certain substances, preparations and components, such as batteries, cathode ray tubes, external electric cables etc.Identification and physical removal of the motor and capacitor from LHA and segregation for on-ward recovery / disposal
• Aid loading of CFC and HCFC waste streams to required WEEE Ireland specification
• General cleaning duties in WEEE Ireland operations area of the facility
• Ensure daily production targets are met on time.
• Liaise with Supervisor in making constant improvement to line efficiency and end product quality.
• Ensure quality standards and practices are adhered to
• Be able to perform a variety of operations in assisting with the production of products associated to the line for which he/she is responsible
• Participate in staff training and development activities to improve present and future performance
• To represent the Enterprises division and the Rehab Recycle in the most professional manner at all times
• Adhere to the Code of Good Employment Practice and the Rehab ethos
• Adhere to safe working practices and contribute to the creation and maintenance of a healthy, safe working environment
• Any other duties that might be required from time to time.
