Further information

Are you currently looking for employment within the environmental sector? Are you struggling to gain employment due to a skill shortage?

Calderdale Council’s Grow Your Future team is offering a new initiative to young adults who are living in Calderdale and are not currently engaged in Employment, Education or Training.

This exciting new project is recruiting a number of keen volunteers looking to gain vital work experience in countryside skills such as dry stone walling, woodland management and wildlife conservation. If you are serious about a career in the great outdoors, live in Calderdale and are aged between 16 and 24 years this could be for you.

You must be able to dedicate 12 weeks to the programme, with a view to a further 12 weeks in a paid placement with a local employer. If you can tick all of the above criteria, why not come along to one of two, specially designed taster days in November?

These days will offer you the chance to try a day in the life of the project, undertaking tasks from vegetation clearance to creating habitats for woodland wildlife, then you will get the chance to participate in team building exercises including archery and indoor climbing.

Book your free place today, call Becky Watts on 01422 392349 or email Becky.Watts@calderdale.gov.uk
