Job: Talent Manager, Comedy


Job Introduction

The multi award-winning BBC In-House Comedy department is the world’s largest producer of comedy, responsible for some of the most watched, critically acclaimed programmes and prides itself on working with the very best in comedy talent, established and new, both on and behind the screen, across radio, online and all four BBC TV channels.

Role Responsibility

The key aspect of this role is to work closely with Managers to ensure the best creative talent with the relevant skills and experience are brought together to make each production in a timely manner.  You will also be working with partners in Finance and HR in dealing with the talent management, contracting and scheduling of freelancers, casuals and staff on continuing and fixed term contracts.

The Ideal Candidate

You will need to have experience of attracting, developing and managing talent across the industry and be able to identify, create and maximise opportunities to attract diverse talent for productions and other BBC wide initiatives. You should also have knowledge of BBC's and Comedy's diverse audiences and ability to apply this when attracting and deploying talent. You should have the ability to deal with challenging situations as well as experience of contracting and negotiating contracts and dealing with confidential information within a production environment.   You'll therefore need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have understanding of media production processes.

Location:  London with occasional travel to Salford and Glasgow
Contract: 12 month Attachment/Fixed Term Contract
