Job Description
This position is to support the EWS(Editorial Work Station) replacement team in retiring EWS and migrating contents on to the new framework/system. EWS comprises of numerous eForms and eReports. The candidate will need to split the existing eForms and eReports into granular components, ready for migration, keeping the existing business logic intact. They also need to create components in new PRP system. Strict attention to detail, ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively, experience in working with workflows and MS Excel programming is required. Good communication skills are essential.
Essential Accountability
• Responsible for breaking down existing eForms and eReports into granular components, ready for migration
• Responsible for creating components (Workbooks, functions and other components) in the new system PRP
• Liaise with EdOps team to make sure existing business logic prevails in the split components and adhere to strict quality standards
• QA and Unit testing work
• Responsible for reporting progress status to the Migration and escalating issues as necessary
• Cataloguing all the contents (migrated and eForms and eReports )
• Participate in migration activities
Qualifications
• Strong prioritization skills, ability to respond to deadlines, multi-task orientation, strong analytical/problem solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work independently and a team-oriented approach are needed to excel in Platts cutting edge environment.
• Commitment to schedules and team project responsibilities are required for the success of this position.
• Experience with at least one of the following technologies or their equivalents: JavaScript, building complex macros in Excel, constructing VBA scripts for Excel, Word, or Visual Basic programming, familiarity with the Windows/Notes environment. Knowledge of one or more of the following is an advantage: HTML, XML and PL/SQL.
• Must be a team player, prepared to step in to assist colleagues, including those in other regions, and active in keeping other team members in the loop on problems as they arise and how they are resolved.
• Must be flexible and able to enjoy a variety of different projects in a very varied work environment.
