Job: Graduate Land Developer - Acquisitions and Development Trainee

Graduates on our programme perform ‘real work’ and will have unparalleled exposure to the property industry. Throughout the programme graduates will be part of a wider development team that includes architects, planning consultants, surveyors, etc.
The Role
Graduates will assist with the acquisition of land to deliver profitable sites suitable for development of residential units, often with significant commercial elements.
Responsibilities include:
  • Building relationships with agents, property consultants and land owners.
  • Conducting on-site appraisals to evaluate various aspects of a site's potential.
  • Prior to acquisition, assisting in the due diligence process.
  • Post acquisition, assisting with achieving outstanding planning consents.
What Makes a Good Land Developer?
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a real passion for Property and the Built Environment.  We need candidates with a good intellect and the ability to think on their feet and learn quickly.  So you will need to demonstrate good A levels and a 2.1 or higher.  You will also need to demonstrate that you have the following attributes;
  • Confidence – a 'go anywhere, do anything' attitude
  • Initiative – a self starter
  • Commitment – a tremendous capacity for hard work
  • Tenacity – never takes no for an answer
  • Attention to detail – sets standards for quality
  • Entrepreneurial drive – an uncanny knack of spotting hidden value.
Please note that this is not a 9 – 5 job and we are looking for individuals who are motivated by delivering results.
Training and Development
The programme blends on-the-job learning, coaching and formal training. One aspect that sets Goldcrest’s programme apart is the mentoring provided by senior management. Graduates have the opportunity to meet with senior management on a one-to-one basis, providing unparalleled guidance and support that is vital for individual development and growth. Not all graduates have the same development needs and this is the reason why each graduate has a dedicated Development Plan targeted to help them improve. Development actions are a blend of external training, on-the-job learning, coaching and mentoring.
The Graduate Package
The graduate salary is £25,000 plus a £3,000 car allowance.  Graduates are also eligible to be considered for an Individual Performance Related Bonus and Company Profit Share schemes.
