The Role
You'll work closely with referred individuals to create a vocational profile, identifying their skills, interests, aspirations and support needs and matching them to specific employment opportunities. You'll support each individual through the job application and interview process, as well as familiarising yourself with their duties so you can support them at their place of work. You'll also need a good knowledge of legislation relating to employment and benefit issues, keeping the employee, employer and carer appropriately informed.You'll be a highly-motivated self-starter, prepared to work flexibly to fit in with the needs of clients and their employers. Experience of working with this client base would be to your advantage but what we're really looking for is a confident communication skills and the determination to advocate on behalf of people with learning disabilities.
About the Team
EmployAbility are Surrey County Council's supported employment service for disabled people who wish to find paid or voluntary work. They help indiviudals find and retain employment by supporting both the employee and employer. They aim to promote social inclusion and enable disabled people to reach their work aspirations and contribute to society.Interview Date
