Border Control Post Supervisor
As part of DP World, one of the world’s largest terminal operators, London Gateway offers the opportunity to work for a global institution in a challenging working environment that relies upon team work, commitment and leadership. London Gateway is a unique development that will combine the UK's newest deep-sea container port in London with Europe's largest logistics park.
The role is to control and supervise all activities within the confines of the Border control post and UKBA facility, working closely with various Government agencies, whilst supervising a team of BCP operatives in accordance with Company standards, policies, procedures and government agency regulations
Key Objective
·Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the border control post and UKBA facilities.
·Ensure the operation is carried out in accordance with government agency regulations.
Key Responsibilities
·Ensure the handling and unloading of container goods are carried out in an efficient and safe manner
·Operate Forklift Truck as and when required to efficiently and accurately move loads.
·In conjunction with various government agencies, create work lists using the Terminal Operating System.
·Liaise with control to ensure resources are allocated to meet demand
·Communicate labour requirements to labour manager
·Identify any potential training needs within the Border control team
·Ensure all procedures and processes are executed in accordance with Government agency regulations, in a safe and efficient manner
·Prepare daily and monthly reports for management
·Perform a timely and effective handover
·Attend training courses as required
·Attend meetings as required
·Identify and resolve any problems in a timely manner, and immediately communicate any delays or expected delays to the Landside Superintendent
·To be an ambassador for the company at all times internally and externally
·Ensure responsibility for safety and discipline in work area and report accidents and ‘near misses’ in accordance with defined safety procedures
Qualifications
·Minimum educational level; GCSE Maths and English grade C and above, or equivalent
·Full driving license holder
