Job Description:

The Parliamentary Estates Directorate (PED) maintains the heritage and integrity of the Palace and other buildings for the benefit of future generations. PED is also responsible for ensuring that the Parliamentary Estate is a fully functioning working environment, equipped for the demands of the 21st century.
The PED Programme Office is responsible for providing information relating to the rolling programme of estates projects (both Houses), in order to:
-keep key stakeholders informed regarding progress and highlight major issues that arise;
-allow cross programme decisions to be made and enable co-ordination of projects; and
-provide confidence that good project management practice is being employed in the execution of estates projects.
The successful candidate will have experience of project/programme management, and an ability to bring this professional knowledge to bear in aspects such as providing advice and assistance on behalf of the Programme Office on technical issues, and aligning system development with good project management practices.
You will also be highly organised and be able to work under pressure; as well as prioritising and sequencing tasks, and planning ahead to ensure deadlines are met. The proven ability to work with and use judgement to interpret complex data, paying particular attention to detail 'getting it right the first time' is also important.
You will have good written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and concisely, to a broad range of audiences at different levels (primarily Project Leaders, many of whom would be more senior than this post holder)
You will also have good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and also a general interest in the way that developments in IT can support efficient business processes.
