My client, a London based health organisation, is looking for a Payroll and Benefits Officer to manage and directly administer Payroll, pension and employee benefits for a 500 employee payroll, and to ensure all related statutory and tax requirements are adhered to via a third party payroll provider. The post holder will be the first point of contact for payroll, pension and employee benefit related queries.
Key duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as central point of contact for all pay and benefit queries, providing advice and guidance on procedure to staff and managers where necessary.
- Ensure accurate, timely and efficient processing of monthly payroll and payment of salaries and allowances for employees.
- Ensure all procedural checks have been carried out satisfactorily, both prior to and following payroll calculation, ensuring any errors are rectified and corrections made.
- Liaise with payroll provider to ensure all statutory and non-statutory deductions are paid to third parties on accordance with relevant legislation or agreed deadlines.
- Produce and manage the payroll schedule and timetable for collation of overtime, holiday, starters, leavers and payroll changes.
The successful candidate will be educated to GCSE level (at minimum) and have a proven competency of administering a large payroll and associated benefits. You will have a strong knowledge of Agenda for Change and other NHS terms and conditions of employment, as well as a strong knowledge of payroll components and their application including maternity, paternity, adoption and sick pay. Demonstrable experience of managing complex time critical, high volume pay and benefit processes is also essential.
