Independent Age has gone through a significant transformation over the past six years, from a benevolent grant making organisation to an ambitious, forward thinking charity offering top quality, UK-wide advice services, backed up by local befriending, and evidence based campaigning to influence public policy.
Independent Age now has a vacancy for a dynamic and results focused individual who wishes to join the Senior Management Team at a time when it is in the exciting position to further extend the impact and reach of the organisation to provide more help to the ever increasing aging population through a ‘step change’ in services and delivery.
The Director of Services will be responsible for developing and leading all Independent Age’s services for older people across the UK. This will include further developing the advice and information services on the whole range of care issues, individual case work and befriending through the national network of 1,500 volunteers.
The successful candidate will bring an in-depth understanding of the social welfare and health care environment, regulatory frameworks, contracting and commissioning policies as well as a strong track record in successfully delivering new services and service improvement.
